This course will help you gain the necessary skills to enable you to start your progression towards being a fully trained and qualified engineer and is a soft approach towards completing the required 224 Consumer Electrical Appliance Repair & Servicing Training Course.

This is an Institute for White Goods Engineers Level 2 accredited course .

Are you looking to take the first step towards a new career or are looking to up-skill as an Appliance Repair Engineer?

This course will help you gain the necessary skills to enable you to start your progression towards being a fully trained and qualified engineer and is a soft approach towards completing the Level 3 224 Consumer Electrical Appliance Repair & Servicing Training Course. The remaining training elements can be booked at your convenience to complete the 224 Consumer Electrical Appliance Repair & Servicing Training Course.

If you feel confident in completing the Level 3 224 Consumer Electrical Appliance Repair Training, this can be completed without completing the 232 Level 2 course.

All white goods manufactures and independent repair companies require Appliance Repair Technicians to maintain and repair their products and customers, and the demand for new technicians has never been as high as it.

Please bring some form of Photographic Identification to verify your training account. (Driving Licence or Passport)

Duration

This is a 4 day course starting at 9am- 3pm on each Tuesday – Friday of the dates indicated on the calendar.

Who can apply for this course?

This course is designed for new entrants with little to no knowledge.

No previous experience is required, just an interest in repairing things and a desire to learn.

All students must have a good level of the English Language, both written and spoken.

What is covered in this course?

      The course covers:
  • Multi-meters and testing resistance, capacitors, and diodes
  • Insulation Resistance testing on whole equipment and individual components
  • Earth Loop Impedance Testing of mains socket/outlet
  • Portable Appliance Testing
  • Safe procedures for testing and isolating mains outlet/fused spur (Lock and Tag)
  • Basic Plumbing including installation of plumbed equipment and commissioning.
  • Basic Electrics including making and testing connections, regulations relating to connecting equipment, crimping of multi stranded cables to avoid separation.
  • Hands on practical experience working on,  Laundry equipment

What do you get on completing the course?

  • A certificate of completion, accredited by The Institute for White Goods Engineers in 232 Appliance Repair Introductory Foundation Training will be issued on successfully completing this course.
